I'm Jen, a person-centred therapist based in Sheffield. I work in person and online, with a specialist interest in LGBTQIA+ and gender, sex, and relationship diverse (GSRD) clients — including people in polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous relationships.
A relationship built around you
Most types of therapy involve being guided toward someone else's idea of what's best for us. Person-centred therapy is different. Here, nothing is pathologised, and you aren’t told what to do. I offer a relationship built on genuine warmth, deep listening, and unconditional acceptance.
For many LGBTQIA+ and GSRD people, that kind of space is rarer than it should be. If you've spent years having to explain, justify, or minimise who you are, therapy with me is somewhere you don’t have to do that. You can show up exactly as you are — and find that being truly heard, without judgement or agenda, begins to shift something.
Following your lead
Because person-centred therapy is led by you, our work takes whatever shape is most meaningful to you. You might want to explore your experiences as a queer or trans person. Or you might want to work on something else entirely, simply knowing your therapist understands where you're coming from.
