Our new whatsapp community
by LJ
This weekend has seen the official launch of tPCA's WhatsApp community, following the integration of most of the special interest groups into a community space. As of right now, we have over 150 members in the community, coming from all parts of the UK (we did a poll).
The community is available as a membership benefit only, and all members should have had an email Friday evening inviting you to join. If you've not had the email, log in to your tPCA account and click 'dashboard' at the top of the page. You'll then see the link to join. If this doesn't work for any reason, email Jenn (
If you're not a member, feel free to join us - membership is free if you're a counselling student on a course that qualifies you as a counsellor. For qualified people, membership is £42 a year, and our concession rate is £22. You can join us here.
We currently have the following special interest groups in the community: race and ethnicity, research, educators and trainers, students, neurodivergence, disability and the non-pathologising group. Since joining, members have started several smaller community spaces, such as 'theory and practice', creative practice, PCT and EMDR, music, and a space for LGBTQIA+ therapists. As long as a space is broadly in line with our aims and ethos, we're happy to set up a group in the space. Membership of the individual spaces ranges from about 10-to 50 members, and those spaces are lively places to be.
We also have our general space, and as someone said "it's nice to have this sense of community; it's been just me".
We hope that you will come along and join us.
