Counselling with me can offer relief, insight, hope and the confidence and trust in yourself to make life choices or changes that you want to make.

  • Areas of practice

If you're considering counselling for the first time, it's important you find a therapist that feels right for you. I hope the information provided here (and on my website) helps you in that journey.

I'm Vicky Mould, and I'm the founder and owner of Azalea Counselling. I have over 14 years of experience as a mental health counsellor and bereavement counsellor, including face-to-face, online and phone counselling.

I offer individual counselling on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, and sessions are currently held online (Zoom or WhatsApp) or over the phone. I'm happy to explore these options with you, if you'd like.

As a down-to-earth and friendly-natured counsellor, I aim to put you at ease from our first contact. You can talk freely with me (you won't be judged, criticised, told what to do or how to be).

Practising person-centred therapy, I offer a supportive and empowering approach, where you can find your sense of coping, healing or wellbeing and continue with a healthier or more fulfilling life.

I'll work to establish a relationship where you feel genuinely safe, valued, accepted, heard, and understood.

We can explore and reflect at your pace, but we don't have to rely solely on talking. We can use art or other creative mediums to help you express your inner thoughts and feelings, gain clarity or a fresh perspective.

I can work with you to make the life choices or changes you want to make.

I offer an initial one-hour consultation to explore counselling and establish if we could work well together. If you'd like to book an online or phone consultation or ask questions before taking that step, please email me or call or text my practice mobile 07729 193629. All contact is confidential.

There is lots of information on my website - do take a look, as it will give you more of a sense of me and how I can work with you.

  • Special areas

As an experienced mental health counsellor and bereavement counsellor, I can offer counselling for life challenges such as:

    • Loss and grief, including baby loss
    • Domestic abuse
    • Parenting issues
    • Relationship issues
    • Stress, including carer stress and work-related stress
    • Depression and anxiety
    • Bipolar disorder or schizophrenia
    • BPD/EUPD
    • PTSD (including following traumatic childbirth).

As I work remotely, I can offer support anywhere within the UK - online or over the phone.

I can also offer a creative approach to counselling, such as using art or other mediums alongside talking. This can be a helpful process for working through trauma and relieving the effects of depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.

    Grief and bereavement counselling
I have supported many people through the confusion and pain of bereavement and loss, including:

    • Facing a loved one's life-limiting or terminal illness
    • Bereavement through sudden death and suicide
    • Bereavement through cancer
    • Experiencing multiple losses
    • Being a bereaved carer
    • Parent and sibling loss
    • Partner and child loss.

I have been a bereavement professional since 2008 - initially as a trained volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Care, providing client assessments and one-to-one support. I hold an advanced-level Certificate in Grief and Bereavement Counselling, and further training in child bereavement and baby loss, including the sensitive issues surrounding miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss and sudden infant loss.

    Mental health issues
I have a longstanding interest in adult mental health. My background includes being a Support Worker on an NHS psychiatric ward, Support Time Recovery Worker for Together for Mental Wellbeing, and volunteer for Rethink Mental Illness and Solent Mind. I have worked successfully with people experiencing the effects of depression (including postnatal depression), anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, BPD/EUPD and PTSD.

My approach is compassionate and non-judgmental, so I will not contribute to feelings of stigma or shame around your mental health, and I do not see a diagnosis as defining the person you are or the potential you have within you.

I'm trained in crisis counselling (I hold a Certificate in this), and can offer prompt counselling support in times of crisis.

    Domestic abuse
I have personal insight into domestic abuse, and many years ago, I was a Helpline Volunteer for Women's Aid. In my counselling practice, I offer support to anyone who is impacted by or concerned about domestic abuse - irrespective of their gender, ethnicity or background.
