Hi I'm Fiona, a person-centred counsellor, with a warm, relaxed and holistic approach. I am passionate about helping people to embrace their individuality and worth, and I appreciate your unique needs, values and preferences. I can support you to develop your own strengths and abilities in order to lead an authentic and fulfilling life.
People seek counselling for many reasons and no issue is too big or too small to bring to therapy. I offer a non-judgemental and confidential space where you are free to explore anything you choose at your own pace.
I have worked with various organisations who specialise in counselling for bereavement and loss, supporting individuals to process, navigate and find meaning after loss. Not only have I provided counselling for bereavement, but I bring a unique insight into end-of-life care and the rollercoaster of emotions that accompany this. I have over a decade of experience working in the community, providing care and support to individuals and their families during this difficult time. I have specialised in dementia support and can empathise with the helplessness, confusion and anxiety that accompanies the chronic sorrow and uncertainty of ongoing loss.
I have specialised training in working with survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, regardless of gender, providing a space where you can share as much or as little as you wish. All emotions are welcome ; there is no right or wrong way to process these traumatic experiences.
My interest in all areas of trauma is something I continue to develop. Childhood trauma can follow you into adulthood and impact all areas of life. Family and relationship trauma can negatively affect our mental health, bringing with it anxiety, stress and an altered sense of self.
Whatever brings you to therapy, from psychological distress to maintaining mental wellbeing, I offer an inclusive and welcoming space for all.
