- Person-Centred counsellor/therapist
Hi, I'm Carolyn. I’m a warm, down-to-earth person-centred psychotherapist who brings my full, honest self to every session - and I welcome you to do the same. Whether you’re seeking counselling to explore traumatic experiences, neurodivergence, relationship challenges, or just trying to make sense of life, I offer a space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. I work in a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and anti-oppressive way, with a good dose of humour, swearing (if that’s your vibe), and genuine human connection. If I feel like
I might be a good match, please reach out to me and we can arrange a free, 30-minute Zoom session to meet one another and to give you a chance to decide if you want to start psychotherapy sessions with me.

Areas of practice
I work with whatever it is that is bringing you to seek psychotherapy, whether that's because you're feeling depressed or anxious, coping with life events or changes, or processing trauma or difficult experiences. In therapy with me, you get the real deal. I bring my full, sweary, metaphor-loving self to every session. I believe healing starts with authenticity, so whether you're crying, raging, laughing; all emotions are welcome. My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in anti-oppressive values, meaning I see and respect the impact of power, identity, and lived experience (including racism, neurodivergence, and body image) on your life.

Special areas
Neurodivergence: As an autistic therapist, I love working with fellow neurodivergent people, whether you're autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, or another form of neurodivergence. I'm very aware of the energy it takes to mask and how exhausting it can be to navigate a neuronormative world, so I do my best to create a space where you can unmask, exhale, and just be you.
Abuse and neglect: I have a deep understanding of the many forms abuse and neglect can take, whether it's sexual, emotional, psychological, coercive control, or physical, and the lasting impact these experiences can have. I've supported clients who’ve faced harm from family, partners, or others, in both childhood and adulthood. At the heart of my work is creating a space where you feel safe, heard, believed, and genuinely validated.
Couples counselling : I work with couples of all kinds, with a special focus on relationships where one or both partners are neurodivergent. Whether you’re navigating communication differences, betrayal, sensory needs, or just trying to better understand each other’s inner worlds, I offer a space that’s supportive and non-judgmental. My approach is grounded in helping you both feel heard and respected.
