In this free online evening seminar, all ten authors of a recent article on the person-centred approach will come together for a live panel discussion.

The article, ‘A clarification of seven logical fallacies that misrepresent person-centered therapy theory’ (Murphy et al., 2025), examines a range of misunderstandings about the person-centred approach. Moving beyond familiar caricatures of the approach as either rigid and dogmatic or overly permissive, the authors identify and critically explore seven specific fallacies. Drawing on their diverse perspectives, they consider how these critiques are made and explain why they misrepresent the theory and practice of person-centred therapy.

Bringing together contributors with varied backgrounds in practice, research, and training, the panel offers a unique opportunity to engage with ongoing debates about the nature of the person-centred approach. Join us for an open and thought-provoking discussion.
