tPCA GSRD Conference: Queerness in the Person-Centred Approach

A one-day conference at Coventry University aimed at looking at various aspects of working with GSRD identities from within a person-centred framework.

Saturday 25th November 9.00am - 5.00pm
Coventry University Technology Centre

The person-centred asociation's 'gender sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD)' Community of Practice is pleased to be hosting a one-day conference aimed at looking at various aspects of working with GSRD identities from within a person-centred framework. The speakers will cover a wide range of topics not often covered in CPD, and will prove invaluable for those looking to gain a new level of understanding.

Plan for the day

Conference attendees taking notes

The conference opens with introductions and will then move to an encounter space - tPCA has run an encounter group for people identifying as GSRD/queer in some way for a couple of years now, and what we know from this is that the space often feels qualitatively different to non-GSRD spaces, and that many counsellors have never had this experience. We want to open this up to all attendees to experience.

After this, we will move to our Keynote presentation:
Therapist encounters with autistic trans people (Sam Hope)  followed by lunch.

After lunch attendees have the option of choosing from three presentations:
Origin story, Non-sexual adult babies or Sex workers.

The final session of the day will be a panel discussion based on our reflections of the day and our understandings of GSRD and the PCA.
