Non Pathologising Group June - Plural Identity and the Person-Centred Approach
Our regular Non Pathologising meeting has moved dates to welcome a presentation by Katie Clancy
'For people who exist as plural, the therapy world can oftentimes feel like a treacherous and hostile environment. Finding a therapist to work with can be a huge risk.
- Will my therapist believe me, if I tell them there are other beings, or fragmented parts of my being, that live with me in this body?
- How will they interact with each of us, individually and as a collective?
- Will we be forced to integrate, othered and/or theorised about?
This session explores what it means to be ‘plural-affirming’, inviting us to consider how we can meet the wholeness and the partialness of our clients' experiences, and all that exists in between.
I'm Katie. I am a trainee counsellor who is passionate about the Person-Centred Approach. I am also one of six people who inhabit my body; I am not just an ‘I’ , but also a ‘we’ . We call this being plural, or having plural identities.'
Please note, you must be a member of tPCA to join the group. If you are not yet a member, you can join for as little as £22pa. Head over to our membership page to find out more.
