Note: There may be a limited number of single rooms, so the earlier we could pay deposits the better chance of more single rooms. To secure the deal anyone wishing to book will need to commit to a deposit* of £120 before 20th December 2026 (prices may increase after that date).

ENCOUNTER

  • PCAN hosts Person-centredencounter groups. While participants do not need formal training in the Person-Centred Approach, understanding the approach would be helpful, and everyone is expected to follow person-centred principles. PCAN groups are self-facilitated. All participants share equal responsibility for facilitating the group. No one is required to speak, and everyone chooses for themselves how much they want to share.
  • PCAN Encounter groups are, by their nature, temporary person-centred communities. This will almost certainly feel different from a familiar ‘regular’ group you may be used to. The environment is different; people may choose not to attend each session, or the full session, and so encounter may have a different flavour, but does not mean it is less valuable, growthful and profound. We, the hosts, aim to hold the space for encounter, for all participants to have the opportunity to true to themselves.

This means that participants:

  • Are responsible for themselves
  • Treat each other thoughtfully and with respect.
  • Listen with empathic understanding, rather than immediately formulating a response.
  • Hold one another in a positive light and to try to see things from the other person’s perspective.
  • Are considerate, careful, and honest in what they say about each other, both when they are together and when they’re not.
