International Meeting on Intercultural Communication

A series of studies support the everyday observation of how little we know ourselves and the effects of our behavior. It is no wonder that we often misunderstand each other: every person has different experiences and backgrounds. Even speakers of the same language attach different emotions and meanings to individual words. (…) Communication difficulties naturally multiply between speakers of different languages ​​and people with different cultural backgrounds. Nothing less than our individual happiness, the more effective functioning of groups, and the peaceful coexistence of countries depend on overcoming communication difficulties.” Carl Rogers

The person-centered approach, characterized by the prominent American humanistic psychologist Carl Rogers, has had a great impact on helping professionals, the treatment of the mentally ill, pedagogical practice, ideas about effective leadership styles, the doctor-patient relationship, and the lives of individual people worldwide.

In 1984 and 1986, a groundbreaking one-week person-centered meeting was held in Szeged with the participation of Carl Rogers and his colleagues. In 2009, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the first meeting, another meeting proved to be a tradition-creating one.

Registration, application, cancellation, transfer, exclusion

• Participation requires payment of the participation fee and completion of the registration form .
• In case of cancellation , 50% of the paid participation fee will be charged as a handling fee.
• We are unable to refund the participation fee paid after August 1st.
  • In case of force majeure  (illness, serious personal reasons) please contact the organizers. We may be able to help you find someone else to take your place!
• If the event is cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the organizer  (force majeure, e.g. epidemic), the participation fee will be refunded - after deducting a 5% handling fee.
• The participation fee is transferable in some cases. If you would like to transfer the participation fee, please contact the organizers. You will need to find a new participant instead of yourself.
• The DISCOUNTED  participation fee means that the applicant is performing the activity/status indicated in the discount announcement at the time of the meeting. (Working as a teacher, social worker, student or pensioner.) Eligibility for the discount must be proven by uploading a document when filling out the application form.
• The organizers reserve the right to refuse participation to any applicant.
