Welcome! I am a Person-Centred practitioner with 25 years experience supporting individuals and couples. I have seen firsthand that when people feel truly understood and deeply accepted, our work together deepens, bringing fresh insights, healing, personal growth, and transformative change.
Individual Counselling
For adults, young people and trainee counsellors
Talking with an experienced counsellor can be a great relief. Being heard with warmth and empathy is often healing. You can gain fresh insights, new ways of moving forward and confidence in your own strengths.
As we work with current situations and past events, it is usual to deepen understandings of yourself and your relationships. You can choose to look at how you identify yourself, including personal beliefs, spirituality, ethnicity, culture, gender and sexuality.
Couples Counselling
Relationship problems can cause distress, anxiety and anger. Open communication becomes difficult when there are tensions and trust issues. As a qualified couples counsellor, I can help you identify, explore and address root causes.
There is space for each person to express themselves and to be heard. I am here to help you understand each other's perspective, and to effectively communicate your own views and feelings.
Supervision
For experienced and trainee counsellors
Supervision is a supportive relationship. My colloaborative, person centred approach involves working together to understand therapeutic relationships and to assist you in meeting the needs of clients. During sessions we explore your work and attend to your professional development. Together we reflect upon any concerns and dilemmas that arise.
I supervise experienced therapists and trainees, supporting your work in placements, schools, organisations and private practice, and helping you to prepare for BACP Accreditation. Whether you are at the beginning of your counselling career, or you are an established practitioner, I offer supervision that is in tune with your level of development and experience.
Focusing
For people interested in deepening self-awareness
Focusing is a gentle process of connecting with inner emotions and feelings, allowing them to naturally unfold. It trusts our body's innate wisdom, and ability to reveal what is needed for our physical and emotional wellbeing. Focusing encourages self-acceptance and self-compassion by cultivating a kind and open relationship with ourselves. All emotions are welcomed without judgment.
Focusing training
I am a Certified Focusing Practitioner and mentor, registered with the British Focusing Association (BFA). As such I have substantial experience teaching Focusing to individuals and groups. The trainings that I offer are the BFA Focusing Skills Certificate and the BFA Focusing Practitioner Professional Training.
