If you’re feeling unhappy, stressed or haunted by old memories, therapy can help, so why not contact me, and we can arrange a time for an initial meeting.

There are many reasons why you may be considering therapy, including the need to make difficult decisions, coming to terms with change, experiences of abuse or the challenges of getting older.

Counselling can bring calm and understanding to replace the pain, anxiety and disturbance that you may be feeling. These distressing feelings most likely stem from wounds experienced within relationships like childhood neglect, or from traumas like an attack or a car accident in which you felt both terrified and alone. The work we do can bring peace to the past and be a foundation for a better future.

In our work I will focus on building a secure, consistent and honest relationship with you, within which over time you will grow in confidence. This will enable you to explore areas of your awareness that you may not have been aware of before or you may have preferred to avoid as they cause you pain when you consider them. By deepening your understanding of these areas you will identify where you have been incongruent, acting and responding in ways that are not authentically yourself. As you grow in confidence in your authentic self you will find greater peace in relationship both with yourself and others.

I also offer supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. The person-centred model is at the core of my supervision. I work with you to achieve a sharper, clearer picture of your clients, This allows you to make your core conditions of empathy, congruence and upr more accurate, powerful and focussed. I also use the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision in which I understand that anything that affects you can also impact your client work and so is welcome at our meetings.

I’ve been counselling clients for over 20 years and offer a safe space, compassionate presence and knowledge that comes from wide experience.

  • Areas of practice

My practice puts the relationship between myself and the client at the centre of all I do. I believe that as nearly all our wounding occurs within relationship so healing and resolution is also only possible from within a secure therapeutic relationship.

  • Special areas

I have worked with many clients who have experienced relationship breakdown; are living with the long term impact of trauma, including being send away to boarding school. I also worked for many years as a counsellor in a drug and alcohol rehab so can work with you if you are struggling to stay in recovery.
