Welcome to my profile.  I offer both open-ended and time-limited counselling to individuals aged 18 and above, either in person or online.

I am a Humanistic therapist and my approach is grounded in Person-Centered therapy.  I prioritise empathy and genuineness in the therapeutic relationship and focus on developing a sense of openness and trust with my clients.  This type of supported, deep exploration, with someone uninvolved in your life, can be relieving and allow you to think more strategically about your life.  This in turn can enable a new depth of self understanding, empowering you to live your life in a more satisfying, meaningful and connected way.

I see my clients as experts in their own lives and work collaboratively with them to tap into their innate wisdom and resources.  I encourage my clients to explore their experiences, guiding them toward self-awareness and self-acceptance.  I’ve seen how this equips them with the capacity to change and have more choice in their lives.

In addition to my profile here, I encourage you to visit my website for more information about how I work: www.elementalcounselling.co.uk

  • Areas of practice

I am a Humanistic therapist; my approach blends person-centred counselling skills with an existential world view.  Jargon aside this means I provide an emapthic, neutral space where you are respected and cared for as we explore your world. I am interested in how wider social and cultural issues (and expectations) can affect us - essentially, what it means for you to be alive in the world today.

The relationship between us is very important.  I endeavour to create an atmosphere of ease and openness, offering a warm, patient and caring manner through which a safe and secure 'container' is established.

You may be wanting support at a difficult time, or to address a specific issue in your life, which could be complex and take time to unravel  - you may not know quite what you are looking for.  We will explore what you may be hoping to achieve in the early stages of therapy together.

An initial session or two should be enough to know whether I am the right person for you to talk with and, after that, therapy can last a number of weeks, months or sometimes much longer.
