“Developing & Enabling the Supervisor Within”
A BACP supervisor training programme aimed at qualified and experienced counsellors/psychotherapists who wish to develop a professional, ethical framework of supervision. (NB – the course was previously BACP Endorsed, but they have now discontinued this scheme)
The course will be Person-Centred in orientation and delivery, but will encourage participants to develop an individual supervision style which has a solid base of values and beliefs, taking into account ethical responsibilities.
Course Details:
Certificate in Supervision - 60 hours CPD
10 Saturdays starting April 2017
Cost - £850 to £900 (dependant on payment method)

Aims & Learning Outcomes
During the course participants will:
- Examine a variety of theoretical models/philosophies of supervision
- Develop a good understanding of the ethical roles & responsibilities of a supervisor
- Explore a variety of themes relevant to professional practice & their relevance to supervision
- Explore values & beliefs in relation to supervision & supervising
- Develop an individual framework for their supervision practice
- Develop their practice through co, and peer, supervision
Facilitators: Sue Mansworth & Sarah Grant-Jones
The Certificate in Supervision programme has two co-facilitators to maximise the learning and development opportunities on the course. Numbers are strictly limited to ensure a facilitator to participant ratio of no more than 1 to 8.
Entry Requirements
Qualification in counselling and either:
- Eligibility for BACP accreditation (in terms of training & practice hours)
or - Other relevant training and/or practice experience
Application
- Completion of application form & payment of booking fee
- Informal interview with course facilitator(s) – phone or face to face
Course Requirements
Participants will be expected to keep:
- A Portfolio built up of peer feedback, tutor feedback and self assessment of supervision practice
- A learning journal
Assessment
- On-going peer, tutor & self assessment of practice sessions
- Portfolio – Self & peer assessed
- A 1000 to 1500 word statement of personal framework of supervision (e.g model / rationale / values / beliefs) – Tutor assessed.
