It is estimated that 1 in 88 people have some form of Autism/Aspergers syndrome. They are likely to present for counselling because of their difficulty in social communication. As experienced couple counsellors, Allan and Kate estimate that 40% of those who present for couples counselling have this condition.
It is very rare for information about autism to be included in counsellor training, therefore it is missed and we consequently fail to adequately help our clients.
Kate Stubbings and Allan Turner have extensive experience of both working with Autism/Aspergers clients and training counsellors in this field. The one day workshop will include innovative teaching techniques which will bring this to life.
