LGBTQ+ Centred Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy - 4 day Externship

online - 3 - 11 pm each day BST, June 13-14 + 20-21
from $945. Reduced fee widening participation places are available

This is the first online LGBTQ+ centred Emotionally Focused Therapy Externship and follows on from the face to face one run by Sandra Taylor, and Robert Allan, EFT trainers, in London last year.

This is the first level of ICEEFT approved EFT training, on June 13-14th and June 20-21st online.

It will run from 3-11 pm each day and so allows for you to potentially still work for some of the day.

This course will primarily be about working with couples and is relevant to those new to working with couples as well as those with years of experience.

EFT, as developed by Sue Johnson, is a collaborative approach to therapy that works with individuals, couples, families and other relationship formations. It has clear skills and structure alongside the individuality of the therapist and each client and therapists are trained to work deeply with emotion as both the target and agent of change.

This course will focus on working with LGBTQ+ clients using EFT, integrating the impact of oppression and minority stress, using examples specifically relevant to LGBTQ+ people, showing videos with LGBTQ+ clients. It will be run by EFT trainers who are lesbian and gay and be supported by helpers who are LGBTQ+ and allies. We will include all the fundamentals of EFT and all those completing will be eligible to go on to the next level of training.

All LGBTQ+ therapists and allies are welcome to join us. Please pass on this information to any therapists, anywhere in the world, who might be interested.
