In the Changing Lives team, we run a Cambridgeshire-wide Step 2 IAPT therapeutic service, encompassing both CBT and counselling. The counselling service is staffed almost primarily by volunteers, both qualified and approaching the end of their training. Our clients are aged 17+ and come with a mixture of presenting issues, ranging from low mood, relational issues, stress and worries about all aspects of life. The counselling we offer is free, confidential, non-judgemental and up to 12 sessions in length.
Our counsellors are invaluable in running a service that is professional and effective. CPSL Mind counsellors work with clients from the first time they enter the service, carrying out each client’s initial assessment and then offering counselling if appropriate. This means that we look for a high level of skill, competence and confidence when recruiting our volunteer counsellors.
The post is subject to some minimum requirements; applicants must already be undertaking at least a Level 4 counselling qualification and have completed a minimum of 20 counselling hours.
Applications which directly reference the skills, experience and qualifications featured on the Person Specification are much more likely to be shortlisted. Where there is insufficient evidence that the application meets the ‘essential’ criteria on the Person Specification, applications will not be shortlisted
