Person – centred philosophy prizes your unique experience of being you.
It is my goal to facilitate the right conditions for you to reconnect with your personal power, through being heard, feeling accepted and valued.   As your counsellor: I am a guest in your world, remaining with you as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and your experience of life.

This might take the form of short-term counselling, to explore a current concern; or longer-term psychotherapy aiming to unravel past hurts that are impacting your life right now.  Both approaches can open up a wealth of possibility for a future in which you feel like the real you – able to draw upon your inner strength and resources which make you an exceptional human being.

Connection through a therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective therapy.  It feels so important for us to be sure that we can work therapeutically together.  For this reason, an initial enquiry is followed by 30 minutes free phone consultation to see if I am the right therapist for you.

I have worked with individuals experiencing:
    Anxiety
    Depression or low mood
    Stress
    Relationship difficulties
    Self - harming
    Suicidal Ideation
    Isolation
    Trauma
    Distress
    And various mental health diagnoses.

I work with Autistic clients in a 'neurodivergent - affirming' approach.
I also work as a Specialist Mentor with Autism Hampshire.
  • Special areas

The experience of supporting individuals with a wide range of presenting issues is rewarding and I believe that the person - centred approach is about 'co - creating' an environment that is optimum for the changes a client might be looking for.

I have an interest in supporting neuro-diverse individuals following my research project exploring  Autism and the person - centred approach.

I am particularly interested in understanding why women and girls are more likely to be mis-labelled with mental health issues, only discovering in later life that they were neurodivergent.

Through a 'neurodivergent - affirming' therapy practice; I would like to support individuals who suspect they might be autistic; or are waiting for assessment for official diagnosis; or those individuals who have been given a diagnosis but unsure of the next steps for them.  Please get in touch.
