In order to be a voluntary counsellor at OSARCC you need to currently self-identify as a woman, and be either qualified as a professional counsellor/psychotherapist, or currently on a professional level training, with a current membership to a professional body with an ethical framework.


Placement requirements
Should have completed 30 hours of 1:1 supervised client work in another placement. 

Before you can begin a counselling placement you will need to apply, attend a selection day if successful, and then if successful at this stage, complete an 8 week training with us on sexual violence.

We offer non-directive feminist person-centred counselling to self-identified women survivors of sexual violence. 

We offer between 12 and 48 sessions of counselling, and also have a therapeutic support group service, a telephone and email listening service and an advocacy service.
