Barnet refugee service
Barnet Refugee Service (BRS) is a registered charity in north west London providing a holistic support to refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants. This includes bilingual, free and confidential mother tongue counselling service for those who are experiencing emotional problems.
As part of our holistic model of support, we are recruiting volunteer bilingual qualified practitioners and advanced trainees at BACP accredited Diploma Level or above, to join our friendly emotional support team. The languages required are Arabic, Farsi, Pastou, Somalian, French, Urdu, Panjabi or any other Asian and African languages.
Volunteers should have BACP or similar bodys’ registration, accreditation or be working towards it. We require a minimum commitment of 2-3 counselling hours per week for a period of 1 year. In return, we will provide clinical supervision, training days and team leader support. All volunteers’ expenses will be reimbursed.
Setting/theoretical approach: Integrative, CBT, Person centred, Art Therapy
