Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 26th June 2019

Following a comprehensive review of Wellbeing Support Services, the University of Warwick will be delivering a wide range of student support services through the Wellbeing, Disability and Counselling & Psychology Interventions teams from September 2019. We are committed to providing professional services that are tailored to individual requirements and aimed at enabling students to successfully complete their studies and enhance their student experience.
Following this review, Wellbeing Support Services are now in a position to significantly expand our clinical interventions team to work within the newly created ‘Counselling and Psychology Interventions Team’. This team will comprise qualified and experienced counsellors and psychologists plus (voluntary) Associates (i.e. qualified but pre-accredited counsellors and psychology assistants) as well as a small number of trainee counsellors/psychologists. The Counselling and Psychology Intervention team will form part of the network of Wellbeing Support Services for students, working in close collaboration with the Wellbeing Team of Wellbeing Advisors who, as well as health promotion across the university, also triage students and offer bespoke preventative workshops and self-help activities and strategies one-to-one, and the Disability team who offer advice and guidance to students with disabilities (including mental health disabilities) on reasonable adjustments to best manage their studies.
We are seeking qualified and experienced Counsellors and Psychologists with an interest in working with students within our highly respected University. The newly enhanced service is looking to employ professionals who will offer impactful clinical interventions to effect change with students managing a range of mild, moderate and complex psychological issues. The work will mainly be focussed, one-to-one therapeutic engagement with scope to develop evidence-based training and intervention with groups. There will be opportunities to offer clinical supervision and consultation to colleagues.
You will have chartered status with BPS and HCPC registration or be an experienced, fully accredited counsellor with BACP (or equivalent) and be competent to work in more than one distinct psychological therapy intervention. You will be an excellent team player with a pragmatic, positive approach.
The posts are 4 days a week, year round, with the requirement to work until 8pm on either Tuesday or Thursday during term time.
