Non-Pathologising Therapy

Lead: Julie Elliott

The non-pathlogising group offers a space for any tPCA member to explore the person-centred approach as a non-pathologizing therapy.

The group meets on Zoom on the last Friday of every month at 5pm, sessions last for 90 minutes and the group usually consists of about half a dozen people. Sessions always kick off with a brief introduction from each participant (we’ve rarely had the same combination of people twice!) and we share a little about our personal philosophies around non-pathologisation, discussing how this plays out in our workspace and, or,  maybe in our personal lives. The idea is to create a community where people can reflect, connect, and collaborate (in the creation of blogs, articles and events).

It probably wont surprise you to know that every member of the group has their own nuanced perspective on the de-medicalisation of distress and this makes for interesting discussion! So whatever your stance, if you would like to join the group, please email Jules@the-pca.org.uk.

Please find below information about the meetings that we have planned. If you would like to join us for interesting on-line conversation and debate or if you’d like to offer to host a meeting and you're not yet a group member, then please do get in touch by sending an email to: jules@the-pca.org.uk

Friday, 17 May from 5pm - 6.30pm The focus topic for the meeting is hearing voices and Louise has very kindly offered to facilitate the meeting and will be inviting discussion so  please feel free to bring your own experiences, ideas and views.

Kindest regards
