We are pleased to announce that the 2019 Person-Centred Encounter Event will run from Wednesday 3rd to Sunday 7th July, 2018. Once again, the event will take place in the beautiful and highly accessible, Gregynog Hall, near Newtown, Powys. The hall is surrounded by 750 acres of grounds, giving a perfect, tranquil setting for encounter. The event will begin with dinner at 6 pm on Wednesday and end following afternoon tea (around 4 pm) on Sunday.

The person-centred basic encounter group provides an opportunity for both person-centred meeting and developing person-centred being. “In such a group the individual comes to know himself and each of the others more completely than is possible in the usual social or working relationships.” (Rogers, C. 1969, Encounter Groups, p16). This experiential event offers a self-structured, self-facilitated space where learning relating to encounter can be gained. It offers the potential to develop a more person-centred way of being, through offering space to develop greater congruence and deeper understanding of both person-centred and encounter theory

Accommodation

Gregynog Hall has 57 bedrooms in the Hall and a further 6 in Garden Cottage. Unless specifically requested otherwise, all rooms will be allocated for single occupancy.

The bedrooms of the Hall reflect the character and personality of the property with rooms of varying sizes and styles from grand historic rooms to single study bedrooms. All rooms enjoy stunning views of the grounds. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities with wash basins, towels and toiletries; some are fully en-suite. To maintain the peace and tranquillity, only some rooms have televisions. A small number of rooms are fully assessable and equipped for those with disabilities.
