Following a brief overview of the theory that has traditionally informed the professional support of the bereaved, the main focus of the training session will be on Meaning Making in Grief, including the challenge of 'Continuing Bonds' and 'Death Anxiety' following major loss and change. The session will be mainly experiential and will particularly draw upon the recent work of Robert Neimeyer, Irvin Yalom, Tony Walter, and Silverman and Klass.
