Facing It: using the mirror technique in psychodrama

December 06, 2014 - December 07, 2014

Priory Street Centre, York | £169

“Looking at ourselves in the mirror forces us to repeatedly come to terms with who we are, even though we continually change” Peter Felix Kellerman The Mirror technique in psychodrama enables us to step back and observe ourselves as other people see us. It provides us with a safe distance, promoting insight and the opportunity for change. Zerka Moreno has often referred to it as “becoming one’s own Therapist”. We can see ourselves afresh and find a new vantage point to liberate ourselves from old ways of being and explore new ones. We will look at the use of this powerful technique in ways that will draw on the experiences and creativity of group members. This workshop will be primarily experiential and action based with some theoretical input and handouts. This workshop is facilitated by Sandra Grieve and Lynette Green and consists of 15 hours training.
