Food isn’t included (Do you think we’re Santa Clause?). Within a five or six minute walk there’s a casino with a buffet and coffee shop. About three or four minutes’ walk, there are Japanese, “Pan Asian,” Italian, and Subway restaurants among others. The Subway and Casino restaurant prices are comparable–more or less--to dormitory prices. (Go to http://silversevenscasino.com/Dining.aspx for Silver Sevens prices.)
Conference: We have planned community and small group meetings as well as formal presentations of ideas and research. Additionally, we have scheduled an evening to see Las Vegas or join an acoustic song circle where you can share, learn, sing, or play music you would like to share–or you can simply listen. (If you want to bring an acoustic musical instrument, but it would financially disadvantage you, we’ll pay $25 toward your baggage charge.) As usual, though, most everything is up for grabs, decided by participants.
Hotel: Free: (a) Airport and strip shuttles (b) WiFi (c) Refrigerator and microwave (d) Pool, exercise room, etc. (How’s “Paradise” for an address?)
Las Vegas: Besides the casinos, really fun to see even if you don’t gamble, there are wonderful parks like Red Rock Canyon, Mt. Charleston. Further away there’s Death Vallley. Also, there’s Lake Mead and its turquoise colored water as well as Hoover dam, a spectacular engineering feat of the Roosevelt administration that supplies water for Nevada, Arizona, and California.
See you in Las Vegas!!!!
